Who we are

Blanket Crochet runs Blanket Crochet, a shop that sells downloadable crochet patterns. We decide how and why your personal data is used, which makes us the controller of the data described here.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to sell you a pattern and get it to you.

Order details: your name, email address, billing address, and the patterns you bought.
Newsletter sign-ups: your email address and the place on our site where you signed up.
Technical data kept in your browser: a cart cookie, your chosen currency, and, if you check out, your details saved on your own device to fill the form next time (see Cookies and storage).
Messages you send us, if you contact us.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's secure fields and are sent to Stripe, not stored on our servers. Stripe handles them under its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of the payment and the details Stripe passes back so we can complete your order.

How we use your data

To process your order and deliver your download (needed to carry out our contract with you).
To send order emails such as your receipt (needed to carry out our contract with you).
To send our newsletter, only if you signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time (based on your consent).
To keep records we are required to keep, for example for tax and accounting (a legal obligation).
To keep the site secure and prevent abuse, such as limiting repeated sign-up attempts (our legitimate interest).

Cookies and storage

We don't use these for advertising. If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we will update this page and ask for consent where the law requires it.

A cart cookie that keeps your cart together while you browse. The shop can't work without it.
Your chosen currency, remembered in your browser so prices show in the currency you picked.
If you check out, your email and address are saved on your own device so the form is pre-filled next time. This stays in your browser until you clear it; it is not sent anywhere until you submit the form.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep accounting records. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy of it, and withdraw your consent at any time. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

The shop is meant for adults buying patterns. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
